Løgtingið
(the Faroese Parliament)
 There are 33 members in the Faroese Parliament all directly elected in the one constituency. 
 Landsstýrið
(the Faroese Goverment)		 At present there are 8 Ministries:
  • The Prime Ministry
  • The Ministry af Foreign Affairs
  • The Ministry of Finance
  • The Ministry of Health
  • The Ministry of Education and Culture
  • The Ministry of Fisheries
  • The Ministry of Trade and Industry
  • The Ministry of Social Affairs
  • The Ministry of the Interior
Heimastýrið (Home Rule) In 1948 The Faroe Islands obtained home rule with in Denmark and are because of that a self-governing part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
